Your Volvo or Your Vermeer?

If you have a Volvo approaching 200,000 miles, and you would like to donate it to a nonprofit, give it to us, and we will sell it at the auto auction.

But more than your trusty Volvo, what we really want is the Vermeer masterpiece that you discovered at the back of your mop closet. We would love to auction that!

Of course, we also welcome art of more modest value. But it must be original art and must be sellable.

On this webpage, you can peruse and purchase the first pieces that donors have given to our “Sales Salon.” All original art. All for sale. All to support the creation of more civic art.

We thank the pastel artist Wendy Harris for launching this initiative. Harris has enjoyed success in two separate careers. First, as a professional fundraiser for Syracuse University, WCNY, and many smaller nonprofits. Second, as an acclaimed pastel artist. In 2024, she capped these careers by donating many of her best pastel paintings to 20 Central New York nonprofits, including the Poster Project.
