When I step into Kitty Hoynes, I often have memorable flashbacks of wandering around Ireland years ago. On a self-guided tour, one of my missions was searching for the perfect pint of Guinness stout. I found many. From Donegal to Dundalk, Belfast to Ballydehob, I enjoyed visiting pubs, meeting local folks and being entertained by the banter, stories and local lore.
I treasure the lively, friendly atmosphere of the emerald isle that welcomes you at Kitty Hoynes And, of course, I always relish patiently waiting for the perfect pint as it slowly settles before top off and arrival. Sláinte!
When I saw the list of local businesses selected for this year’s Poster Project, I knew I had to create a poster for Kitty Hoynes. For over 25 years, it has been a beloved Syracuse institution and a truly one-of-a-kind spot. I’ve always enjoyed spending time there, sharing a pint of Guinness with friends. For my illustration, I aimed to capture the essence of what you might experience at Kitty Hoynes on any given day. This year I had the privilege of collaborating with my friend, poet Jay Cox, whose words inspired and guided me through the creative process
