    Rain Beads on Petals

I liked the natural content of this poem. I am from the country, and my family is big on gardening. So I was drawn to this poem more than to some of the other poems. I also like to include animals in my illustrations, so I thought this poem would be great for that.

I'd been to the rose garden before, but I never paid too much attention to it. So I went back when the roses were in full bloom and took some pictures.

I also did some research on the garden and found it started in the 1920s. So when I put some birds in the painting, I decided to put them in period clothing. And to keep the roses as the main focus, I made the rest of the painting in sepia tone.
