I was initially drawn to this haiku because of its potential and the visual nature of lemons. There is something kind of lovely about a lemon and their simplicity. As an artist, I hope to capture the power of things unsaid and create work that tells the story. One of the feelings that I took away from reading the haiku was a sense of nostalgia. I wanted the piece to feel like someone's memory from years ago, depicting a simple scene but carrying a strong message.
