    Poet

    Drawn in by Pictures

I wrote this poem a couple of years ago. The woman I was working with took me to the P.E.A.C.E. picnic in Thornden Park. She had seen it in the New Times, and we just decided to go and see what it was about. There was origami, the poetry activity, and a picnic. The woman I work with enjoys poetry, so she wanted to do the activity. I really, honestly, have no interest in poetry. I don't read it. I don't write it. She was able to talk me into it, telling me, “Write about something you enjoy””and I enjoy reading.

I've been an avid reader since first grade. I enjoy historical fiction and war time novels: Ken Follett, Tom Clancy, and Vince Flynn are favorites. They pull you right in. It's not like you're seeing words on paper, you're seeing what happens in the book in your head, kind of like a movie.
