    Thousands March like Ants

My wife and I moved from Syracuse down here to South Carolina almost two years ago. When writing this haiku, I thought of my very fond memories of marching uphill to the Dome to attend basketball games and football games.

At the same time, I was considering haiku's relationship with nature, so I wound up thinking of a bird's eye view over the city and how an outsider might look down and see these people all dressed in the same colors, walking up to the Dome like ants walking up an anthill. Often the buildup and anticipation of an event can be exciting as the event itself. You've finally gotten out of work, maybe just met up with a friend, and this is the beginning of your night. It can be just as exciting as watching the game.
